Playing without an account

You can play Lanternrift without signing in. Your progress is saved only in your own browser. Nothing about you is sent to us, and the game does not use ads, analytics or tracking cookies.

If you make an account

An account is optional. It lets you keep your progress in the cloud and appear on the Omen leaderboards. When you sign in we store:

your email address, used to sign in and to send you codes when you make an account or reset your password;
your password, stored only as a salted one-way hash (we can't read it);
if you turn on two-step sign-in, the secret your authenticator app uses and hashed recovery codes;
the leaderboard name you pick, which other players can see;
your game save (heroes, upgrades, settings) and your best Omen scores.

If you buy the full game, we also keep the order number, amount and status that our payment partner sends us, so the heroes stay unlocked on your account and refunds work. We never see your card details.

We do not sell or share this information, and we never send marketing email.

Who handles it

The site and its database run on Cloudflare. Account emails are sent through Resend. Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller, takes the payment and sends your receipt under its own privacy policy. Both process data only to provide those services. When you pick a password, the first 5 characters of its SHA-1 hash are checked against the Have I Been Pwned breach list; the password itself never leaves our server.

Deleting your data

In the game, open your account (the cloud button at the top right of the camp or title screen) and choose Delete my account. That removes your email, save and scores right away. Order records are kept for tax and refund purposes. Progress already in your browser stays there until you clear it.
